What is SURContext?

Instead of relying only on general model knowledge, SURContext retrieves the most relevant approved fragments for each question and gives them to the language model.

Separate contexts for a course, programme, service or internal area prevent unrelated knowledge from being mixed. Chat, history and optionally cited sources remain in the LMS.

    Create one or more logical knowledge contexts.

    Add authorised LMS content, documents or multimedia files.

    Background workers extract or transcribe text, split it into fragments and create embeddings.

  4. 04

    A vector database indexes fragments within their context.

    At question time, semantic retrieval finds relevant evidence and the configured LLM prepares the response.

    The LMS presents streaming chat, persistent sessions and, when enabled, sources.

AI models

Choose the model strategy that fits your policy

  • Choose between OpenAI, Mistral AI and Anthropic, with a setup tailored to the level of capability your organisation needs.
  • You can also use Ollama in your own infrastructure, as well as other compatible options validated for your project.
  • Knowledge is prepared and searched with a local model in our backend. An external provider is consulted only when the configuration you choose requires it.
